Ecopaparazzi Member Siew Te Wong

16 years ago ecopaparazzi member Siew Te Wong worked with scientists on a radio-telemetry study of a deer species in Taiwan. The project changed his life. "From then on, I was doing nothing but studying wildlife and working closely with wild animals," he said. Wong's specialty is the sun bear. It is the least known bear in the world, but is vanishing rapidly due to human population pressures and poaching. Wong's Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Blog and Sun Bear Journal aim to raise awareness about the animals in order to protect them from cruelty, capture, habitat loss and slaughter. Human pressures are sending the sun bear to the brink of extinction.
